Composer and cellist Olof Franzén, born in Umeå, has written the piece Organic Music No. 5 now performed for the first time by the NorrlandsOperan Symphony Orchestra. Soloists are violinists Duo Gelland, prized for their captivating interpretations of new music.

Mei -Ann Chen, 37, originally born in Taiwan now lives since 1989 in the United States. With her?energetic and passionate music she has had great success as a conductor around the world, winning numerous awards.
Duo Gelland, violins
Duo Gelland, Cecilia and Martin Gelland, are living in Jämtland, where they are artists in residence since 2002. The duo was founded in 1994 and has enjoyed great international success through their spontaneous contact with the audience through dialogue, and by using odd stages such as mines, factories and distant churches around the Nordic countries and in the USA.
