Inauguration Weekend at Bildmuseet
Bildmuseet is open from 11:00 to 21:00 Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the inauguration weekend of the European Capital of Culture year. The same opening hours apply for the creative workshop for all ages, supervised by art educators.
Guided Tours Every Hour
Every hour from 12:00 we offer guided tours in the current exhibitions. The tour will be held in English upon request.
Opening of New Exhibitions
On Sunday February 2nd you are invited to the opening event for the two new exhibitions, Leonor Fini / Pourquoi pas? and Katarina Pirak Sikku / Nammaláhpán. Presentations, artisttalks, opening mingle and music.
Frida Hyvönen at the Bildmuseet stage
The opening festivities on Sunday end with a concert by Frida Hyvönen on Bildmuseet’s stage on Sunday at 16:30. After that open for mingling and exhibition visits throughout the evening until 21.00.

Leonor Fini / Pourquoi pas?
Surrealistic pieces from 30’s, 40’s and 50’s by the French-Italian artist Leonor Fini. Paintings, drawings, objects, design, litterature, film and photography. he exhibition is open the entire weekend, but don’t miss the event on Sunday at 15:00 when the exhibition is officially inaugurated by the French Ambassador Jean-Pierre Lacroix
Katarina Pirak Sikku / Nammaláhpán
Can sorrow be inherrited? Katarina Pirak-Sikku’s exhibition relates to Swedish racial biology’s studies of the Sámi population in the early 1900s. The exhibition is open the entire weekend, but don’t miss the event on Sunday at 15:00 when the exhibition is officially inaugurated in the presence of the artist
