Lappen i Manjaur
The Manjaur Sami takes place in 1748. The Sami man Båtas Njoita lives in Manjaur when one day, the settler Mathias Persson arrives. The coffee hasn’t even gotten cold before the two start arguing. Their children, the Sami girl Neida and the settler son Nils, do their best to heal the wounds that are torn open again and again.
For several years, the Vindeln congregation has run the project “Reconciliation and coexistence among people, cultures and interest groups.” They got the idea of setting up this story written by Per August Lindholm as a theatre play as a new way to talk about reconciliation.
