When rock'n'roll came to Sveg
Bookseller Söderqvist in Sveg wrote rock history when he, as one of the few Swedes chose to import Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel. It had just become a hit in the United States and now there was suddenly a copy of this rock classic in the small town of Sveg!
For Härjedalen, that album became the starting point for a rich and vibrant music scene. Roland Cedermark and Ewert Ljusberg for example, took their first steps as musicians in Sveg. Now Torgny Karlsson, known from bands like The Boppers and The Kingen Trio, has produced a show about Sveg’s rock’n’roll history.
