If the weather is bad:
During the late 2000’s, the music by Sandy Hill String Band was heard all over the area. When the band went separate ways, Oskar was left alone, with guitar in hand and a thousand unsung songs. One can say that Sandy Hill String Band was turned into a One Man String Band.
From his childhood in the now burned-down houses on Geografigränd here in Umeå, along the green meadows of Ersboda, through the lecture halls in the Teacher Education building, to the Culture on Campus stage. With firm roots in the soil of Umeå he looks out toward the singer songwriter tradition in the U.S., heavily influenced by bluegrass and country music.
He’s a multi-instrumentalist in the heart, with violin and mandolin as important elements in his music. For this performance, he only brings his old guitar, his voice and a bundle of songs.
Warm welcome to the final Culture on Campus event for the Spring 2014 term!
