Thu Feb 13 - Sat May 10 2014

Stor-Nila is a musical that revolves around love, unrest, poverty and Sami life in the 19th century. The text has been written by Mikael Niemi with music by Per Egland. All the secondary schools in Västerbotten will receive study materials for use in several subjects as well as copies of the musical. Pupils will be given the opportunity to add their own ideas to the script and music. The musical will be produced and performed in Sävar, Lycksele, Storuman and Tärnaby.

News about the project:

Sept 2013: Large workshop for more than 130 pupils from the four participating schools. For more information visit the musical’s website.

Spring 2013: Pupils study background to musical using book “Fattiga som de voro” by Birger Ekerlid.

Stor-Nila is also part of the project River Stories.
