How to get there:

Parking:
The nearest rullstol32 car park is along the river at the Arts Campus, Östra Strandgatan and roadside parking along the Öst på stan crossroads.
The nearest parking space (1) for vehicles with parking permits is inside the courtyard. This space is marked out, 2.6 m wide and about 40 m from the entrance of the Institute of Design.

Dropping off:
Taxis or special vehicles can drop people off at the main entrance.

Escorts:
A charge for escorts may be decided by the organiser. Special instructions for booking.

ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN/PUSHCHAIRS:

The premises:
The entrance to the Institute of Design is at ground level, an automatic door opener is provided. Good door width. There are ramps to toilets. Lifts are available. Changing tables are available in the disabled toilet at Humlab-X floor 0.

Parking for pushchairs:
Available on floor 0.

Food:
Microwave ovens are available in the restaurant on floor 0.

Smoking:
Not specified. No ashtrays available at entrances.

Plants:
Green plants are present, mainly on floor 0 by the restaurant.

Fitted carpets:
None on the premises.

Guide dogs:
Are permitted on the premises.

Diet:
The restaurant and café Hansson & Hammar on floor 0 offer gluten-free and lactose-free options.

Handrails:
To the Institute of Design: There is an artificial, tactile handrail from Östra Strandgatan, the first turn-off to the right that can be selected leads to the entrance door.
To Humlab-X: Follow the handrail straight on from Östra Strandgatan to the edge wall. There are stairs there down to the entrance. The stairs have contrast markers. Not all glass panes are marked.

Signs:
Information board at Östra Strandgatan. There are signed with good contrast at both entrances. Instruction signs on the wall in the stairwell. Toilets signposted on the doors, no tactile information.

Lift:
Institute of Design, left corridor after the entrance. The lift button for the ground floor has a tactile marker.

Guide dogs:
Are permitted on the premises

Signs:
There is an information sign on Östra Strandgatan. Entrances are signposted. Information can be found at the stairwell.

Evacuation alarm:
Not available, but there is a sprinkler system on the premises.

Walkway:
The area from the rullstol32 car park to the entrance of the Institute of Design is even and almost flat. There are outer steps to Humlab-X, but the premises can also be reached from Bildmuseet or the Institute of Design.

Entrance:
The Institute of Design has a door with a threshold bevelled to make it level and opens to a reasonable extent. Automatic door openers with pushbuttons, difficult to reach on the inside due to furnishings.

Lift:
Available via the ramp to the stairwell. Standard size. Lift call in the corner. Control panel OK.

Accessible toilet:
Available in corridor at the Institute of Design, at the top end of the ramp. Door OK. Turning area in the room 1.5 m and free space by the toilet. Fittings slightly high up or in a corner. No alarm cable to armrests.

There are also a rullstol32toilet at Humlab-X, floor 0. Good door width, turning area 1.5 m and free space at the toilet, 0.87/0.82 m. Fittings which are difficult to reach; mixer tap, coat hook and soap. No alarm cable to armrests.
